Amazingly Wicked

I have finally somewhat recovered from my fun, long weekend in New York to write about it.  But, before I can go any further, I must thank my wonderful husband who generously agreed to let me go visit my sister while he stayed at home and watched the kids.  It felt so refreshing to be able to wake up on my own accord without the shouts of “Mom,” and/or the crying that I wake up to most mornings.  Although I must admit, I did miss the little monsters and wondered about all the cute things they were doing while I was away.
Now, about my trip to New York… it was FABULOUS!  From agreeing with Charnesse (one of my best friends) to follow a black market dealer to his little dungeon under a grocery store in order to purchase “fake designer” purses to all the delicious eating, I just had a marvelous time.  But, the highlight of my vacation was watching the Broadway play Wicked.
That was the one thing I wanted to do while I was in the city, but I was not willing to shell out almost $200 for a hole-in-the-wall ticket.  My sister, Roshini, told me about a lottery that they do at the theater in which you can put your name down for a raffle two and a half hours before the show.  Fourteen names are called.  If your name among that fourteen then you can purchase up to two tickets for $25 each and you get front row seats.  So Charnesse, Roshini, and I decided to try for the lottery tickets.  Guess whose name they called out first… MINE!  I was beyond ecstatic.  Talk about front row seats… Charnesse and I got to watch the play sitting in the first row, center aisle, orchestra seats.  The orchestra was right in front of us.
Wicked is amazing!  If you ever get a chance to see the show, I highly recommend it.  The costumes and set designs are beyond awesome and the play it self… well there are no words to describe how great it is.  If there is anything I will remember from my trip to NY it will definitely be the play.
To this end, like all good vacations, this one has come to a close and I’m glad to be home with goofy husband and my beloved, drive-me-up-the-wall crazy boys.
